Okay sophomores I'm doing this so late geesh. Probably not going to make the deadline but anywho. Simple and Facillitated Dissusion is basically where molecules move across the cell membranes. The reason why molecules do this, is because of a universal law called entropy. Entropy is where molecules move from a high concentration to a area of low concentration. So this is takes molecules that are at a high concentration outside the cell membrane and move them into the cell. These type of transportations are classified as passive transport because no energy is required. They come across the membrane by various types of transports all consisting of proteins. Active transport is the exact same thing but energy is needed because some substances need to move across a membrane against the entropy law. This is usually supplied by ATP. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
